A Greek Sustainability Series will be launched on SBS Radio in August 2007 to encourage Greek Australians to live more sustainably.
SBS will broadcast the ten-part series to 78,000 Greek listeners in Sydney and Melbourne on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:00pm on 1107AM in Sydney and on 97.7FM in eastern states.

Recording the Greek Sustainability Series in May 2007 are: (L-R) Antonia Kapsalis, bilingual educator ECC NSW; George Messaris and Hrisoula Tsambazi, SBS broadcasters
The Greek Sustainability Series is produced by the Ethnic Communities' Sustainable Living Project in partnership with SBS Greek Radio to take the sustainable living message into the community.
The radio series will present 10 episodes – about Sustainability, Water Conservation, Waste Reduction and Recycling, Stormwater, Green Cleaning, Composting and Worm Farming, Biodiversity, Saving Energy and Reusing Water – and one 40-minute talkback session.
At the close of each 10-minute episode, listeners will phone in to contribute tips for saving water. Four callers will win an environmental giveaway – a water saving kit, compost bin or green cleaning kit – and go into the draw for a 4000L water tank from Blue Scope Steel.
The winner of the water tank will be announced during the final episode of the Greek Sustainability Series, due to be broadcast in September this year.
