Following the successful Biodiversity Education campaign held in the Macarthur area in 2006, the Nature Conservation Council of NSW is currently calling for potential project partners and sponsors in the Central Coast to get involved in a local campaign.
NCC is looking for local businesses, councils, and community environment groups, to get involved with the forthcoming 'Our Earth, Our Stories' nature photo competition project.
Through a series of on-ground 'Shutter-Bug' and 'PhotoVoice' events designed to encourage residents to explore their local biodiversity through photography,'Our Earth, Our Stories' complements the work of people working in biodiversity management. It aims to establish partnerships that encourage Central Coast residents to better appreciate and protect their local biodiversity.
'Photovoice' is a powerful community-driven tool for environmental and social action. Participants learn how to compile stories about their local environment using pictures and captions that highlight an urgent need for action.
To find out how you can get involved, please contact Peter Randall, Biodiversity Education Project Office on (02) 9279 2466 or email prandall@nccnsw.org.au

This project has been assisted by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust
