Training for an energy smart workforce
Businesses and training organisations can download and use fourteen free sets of energy efficiency training resources to train tradespeople and professionals to make business operations, products and services more energy efficient.
The resources were developed by businesses, training providers, and universities under the NSW Government's Energy Efficiency Training Program and can be used to train tradespeople and professionals including business owners, property managers, manufacturers and construction workers.
Organisations that developed and piloted the training resources report significant energy efficiency improvements, helping to keep down the cost of doing business.
Energy efficiency training in which building managers learnt to analyse and interpret energy data more effectively saw six office buildings in Sydney become greener.
Managers and staff at the popular Kingsleys Steak and Crabhouse and Chophouse restaurants worked together and found electricity and gas savings of up to 12 per cent, often through simple changes.
A futher nine sets of training resources will be available later this year.
