Living Sustainably

Issue 21 - October 2011
Safe sharps

Safe Sharps is an interactive website developed by the Riverina Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (REROC), linking the community with locations to safely dispose of sharps, across NSW.

The website was officially launched in July by NSW Minister for Health, Jillian Skinner, and is available for iPhone™ and iPad™ and mobile web, with a free iPhone app available from the iTunes™ Store.

In addition to searching for convenient disposal locations, users can submit new site listings and update information on exisiting sites.

The Safe Sharps project has been funded by the Community Sharps Management Grants Program which is an initiative of the NSW Department of Health and the Local Government and Shires Association of NSW.
