Stephen Bromhead MP congratulated local businesses

Manufacturers, dairy farmers, butchers, restaurants and cafes were among the 170 Manning Valley and Great Lakes businesses congratulated for their sustainability efforts, at a ceremony held at Club Taree in August.

Through NSW Government business sustainability programs, businesses in the area are saving more than $320,000 a year on their bills.

A number of Mid North Coast businesses boast inspiring environmental achievements through Sustainability Advantage, including Edstein Creative Stone who have cut water use by 98 per cent.

Croker Oars received $5000 from the Energy Efficiency for Small Business Program to install skylights, insulation and more efficient lighting and is now saving $3000 per year.

Across NSW, 15,300 organisations have taken advantage of NSW Government programs to save $68.5 million per year – $36.5 million in energy costs alone.

Other businesses improving our environment and increasing profits will be recognised at local events at Tamworth, Byron Bay, Newcastle, Penrith and Parramatta over the next three months.
