Computer recycling has been the most popular search item

Australia's first national online recycling directory for businesses, BusinessRecycling.com.au, has celebrated its first birthday with an outstanding 200,000 visits to the site.

The site has been very popular with small business, with the most commonly searched material being computers and accessories, followed by cardboard, printer cartridges, plastic and paper.

More than half the mixed waste generated from small to medium businesses could be recycled, and the success of BusinessRecycling.com.au proves that business want to achieve this.

Over 12,000 recyclers and drop-off locations are registered on the site to take more than 80 materials, making it easy for businesses to recycle and reuse unwanted materials.

BusinessRecycling.com.au has been developed by Planet Ark and is supported by foundation partners the Office of Environment and Heritage NSW, Pitney Bowes and the Queensland Department of Environment and Resource Management.
