A new website will help businesses, especially small to medium businesses, find recycling, safe disposal and waste transport services across Australia.

The Business Recycling directory will also help providers of recycling and waste disposal services promote their business.

The project is a partnership between Planet Ark and the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water NSW. Business Recycling recognises the need for better information for businesses to access recycling services. Pitney Bowes are also partners in the project.

Reducing business waste is important in New South Wales, where waste from the commercial, industrial, construction and demolition sectors makes up 68 per cent of the waste going to landfill.

Given the fact there are 670,000 small businesses in NSW (employing 96 per cent of all workers); the amount of business waste produced every single day is staggering.

"This is a unique opportunity for recycling service providers to promote their business to a key market," says Brad Gray, campaigns manager at Planet Ark.

"We encourage all re-use, recycling, waste disposal and waste transport companies to take advantage of this free promotion and list their services on Business Recycling."

Companies can add their details to the site simply by filling in the on-line registration form. "It is free for recyclers to list their services and all listings can be made directly onto the site," says Gray. "Business Recycling is about centralising information and making it easier for businesses to find the solutions they need."

Visit Business Recycling or call the Business Recycling Hotline on 1300 763 768 for more information.
