Make a Power Pledge to save money on bills and help reduce carbon pollutionMake a Power Pledge to save money on bills and help reduce carbon pollution

With a very hot summer forecast, you can stay cool without your power bills – and our carbon pollution – ballooning.

Did you know that summer electricity use is likely to exceed winter use for the first time in NSW?

Keeping air conditioning a few degrees warmer (23 degrees or higher is best), closing doors to only cool rooms you are using and closing blinds to stop hot sun coming in, can save $100 and 10,000 black balloons. Average NSW homes produce 160,000 black balloons of carbon pollution a year; thousands during summer.

Did you know that using a fan instead of an air conditioner can slash your power bill by $110 each year and reduce carbon pollution by 550kg?

Make a Power Pledge now or for the New Year

Save Power is successfully helping the NSW community to use less electricity at home – saving money on power bills, reducing carbon pollution and our impact on the environment. Six out of ten people have seen the Save Power campaign and 63 per cent have been motivated to save power. An impressive 85 per cent say they approve of the Save Power messages to help people find easy ways to save power, money and carbon pollution.

Keep visiting the Save Power website for tips on how to keep cool without wasting power and money on air conditioning.

Forward this page to friends and family and make a Power Pledge to save money on bills and help reduce carbon pollution.

Making a Power Pledge is a great way to monitor how your changes are making a real difference. You can track and measure what you are doing over time to show how your actions lower power bills and reduce our impact on the environment. So far, Save Power members have saved 4,967,500 black balloons of carbon pollution.

If you have any feedback or suggestions we'd love to hear from you.
