Where do I start?

Shop wisely – Buy what you really need

Buy less and buy smart. Before buying or replacing something, think carefully – do you really need it? can you reuse or extend the life of items you already have? are there other ways of achieving the same goal?

When you purchase, consider the life cycle of a product – How will it be disposed of? Can it be reused or recycled?

Send a message to manufacturers that packaging doesn't sell – buy groceries and products with little or no packaging and choose products such as soaps and shampoos that come in refillable packs.

Where packaging is unavoidable, choose products with packaging that is recyclable e.g. aluminium, steel cans, cardboard or glass jars.
