Competition Terms and Conditions
Conditions of entry and key dates for the World Environment Day Competition. Acceptance of these terms is a condition of entry. Competition has Closed for 2006.
Competition Dates
- Competition commences: 06:00am AEDST Monday 1st May
- Closing date for entries: 05:00pm AEDST Wednesday 31st May
- Judging takes place: 12:00 MD AEDST Thursday 1st June and Friday 2nd June

Terms and Conditions of Entry
- The Competition officially commences at
6:00am AEDST Monday 01/05/2006
- Entry is free
- This is not a game of chance but a judged competition
- Entries must be submitted using the original entry form obtained from either the livingthing.net.au website, the Entry Card available at Bunnings Warehouse stores, or the advertisements appearing in the Daily Telegraph on 3rd, 9th, 13th and 19th May 2006
- Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions
- Any entry not complying with these terms and conditions is invalid
- Entry is open to residents of NSW Australia aged 16 years or over
- Employees of the Department of Environment and Climate Change NSW (the Promoter), employees and the suppliers of prizes associated with this promotion and their immediate families are ineligible to enter
- Prizes will be listed on livingthing.net.au
- Total prize pool is valued at $54,296
- The prizes and their values are listed in order of the highest value of individual units to the lowest value of individual units.
Prize values listed are in good faith based on advice received from prize partners. These prizes have been bundled into 12 prize packages - see livingthing.net.au for details. There are terms and conditions attached to some of the listed prizes.

- The entry must be the original work of the entrant
- Entries must: Tell us in 50 words or less "What sustainability means to you"
- Entries must be free of spelling, punctuation and typographical errors

be completed and submitted using the online entry form at livingthing.net.au during the competition period (Competition has closed for 2006)
- Entries must be submitted by last mail received on 31/05/06 for postal entries and, 5:00 pm AEDST on 31/05/06 for online entries during the competition period
- No entries will be accepted after that time and date
- Any form of automated entry using any other devices or software is invalid
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process, or for submitting an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry
- Judging criteria forms part of these terms and conditions
- Entries and finalists will be judged by a panel of judges on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd June 2006
- Judging will take place at the Department of Environment and Climate Change NSW, Sustainability Programs Division, Level 2 - 1 Fitzwilliam Street, Parramatta NSW 2150
- The judge's decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into
- Winners will be notified by telephone. This information will also be posted on the Our Environment - it's a living thing website livingthing.net.au
- Winners will be announced on Monday 5th June 2006 on livingthing.net.au
- Results will be published on the livingthing.net.au website Monday 5th June, 2006
- Any unclaimed prizes will be retained for a period of three months after the competition is judged (Until 5th September 2006)
- The Promoter will then distribute any unclaimed prize if it is unclaimed by that date to the next entry judged to be the next correct according to the judging criteria
- The winner of the unclaimed prize will be contacted by mail/phone/email that day
- Prizes are not transferable and cannot be taken as cash
- Proof of identity and age, of winners may be required before a prize will be handed over
- Any costs associated with the collection, delivery arrangements, or other may be at the cost and responsibility of the winners
- The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered, including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss, or for personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law
- All entries become the property of the Promoter
- All details will be held in accordance with the Promoter's Privacy Policy which can be accessed at livingthing.net.au
- Winners should allow 28 days from the announcement of the winning entries for delivery of their prize or the initial contact from the prize provider to arrange assessment should the prize be a fixture for installation or a service to be provided.
- If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, whether caused by infection by computer virus, mobile phone failure, line drop out, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity of the promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion, (subject to any written direction given by a relevant Regulatory Authority), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion. The Promoter may in its sole discretion disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process
- Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Promoter's database. The Promoter is not responsible for receipt of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information caused by an entrant or occurring during transmission
- The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone, telephone or computer network, or lines, servers, or telephone or internet providers, traffic congestion on any phone or computer network, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person's handset or computer related to or resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this promotion
